Reading Notes: What 'Deep Work' Gets Right (and Wrong)

I re-read parts of Deep Work and felt the same mix of motivation and skepticism.
What it gets right
- Focus is trainable
- Shallow work expands to fill the day
- Context switching is expensive
What it oversimplifies
Not everyone has the power to block four uninterrupted hours.
A realistic compromise
- Two 45-minute deep blocks per day
- One “admin block” for everything else
- A hard stop time to prevent infinite workdays
